Greetings!!
I believe those reading this blog have purely been attracted by the title since the youth these days, along with battling fellows, friends and foes, are now battling their very own parents! And I believe this falls in the "worst" category!
Though admittedly youth is doing wrong to themselves when they rebuff their parents, these noble beings also need to realize that kids don't remain kids forever! Taking your baby's decision looks good when that baby fits the definition of baby and does not even touch the definition of an adult! When that individual steps into adulthood, parents need to realize if they continue taking decisions, they are actually crippling their child!! Everyone NEEDS their share of autonomy when it comes to taking decisions regarding what to wear, where to go, what to eat and the like, and then the matters grow on to become big and serious just as that individual grows! If these kids cannot make good decisions regarding small things, how do parents expect their kids to make good decisions about the bigger things that inevitably have to come?! You cannot rule your small ones forever!! A healthy advice always looks good though, not imposing your views! Admittedly, parents have more experience than their kids, and hence are much better decision-makers. They are seldom wrong and always right! But if they can't breed their little ones to become good decision-makers like themselves - well you turn out to ruin them!!
I read it somewhere, "A teacher is one who makes him/herself progressively unnecessary"
There is no better teacher than parents. Though "unnecessary" here does not imply the parents should leave, it merely implies parents should make their young ones independent enough that they can survive on their own, not keep their kids dependent on themselves forever!
