Javed Akhtar on Two-Nation Theory

Greetings!!

Indian renown Indian writer and artist affiliated with its film industry talks about the Two-Nation Theory and Pakistan.

I was absolutely speechless when I saw these videos. There are many opinions that can be formed on this 20 minutes discussion. My opinion was that of pure sympathies with this gentleman who has put in all efforts to drape the religious skirmishes in not-so-easily-understandable thick words of communalism, fascism, secularism and atheism. Although I am not in complete disagreement with Mr. Javed Akhtar, I find quite a few places where he does not seem to make sense. For a fact, Mr. Javed Akhtar generalized the entire Pakistani demographics while claiming himself that Muslims is not a monolithic society. He disregards the clashes in India on the basis of secularism etc. while claims that the same clashes in Pakistan are a result of Muslim's attempt at wiping out the minorities from Pakistan.

Pakistan itself is the target of religious extremists. Pakistan is not a perfect state with no problems in its governance and establishment. But to pinpoint our shortfalls and actually mold it to fit in their views is something beneath a well-educated talented artist like Mr. Javed Akhtar. He himself have been caught in many places which a careful observer is sure to notice. I leave the rest on the viewers to formulate their opinions.

Peace.
