Indo-Pak War 1965

Greetings!!

The second war fought between the countries was during the reign of Ayub Khan. India was again successful in starting war between the two countries. The two armies mobilized in April 1965 when the Indian Army transcended into the Pakistani lands. Pakistan proposed a ceasefire which was mutually accepted and the armies disengaged at the time.

However, in the beginning of September 1965, during the late night hours, India deceitfully attacked Lahore and Kasur areas in Pakistan without formal declaration of war. Even so, the Pakistani Army fought well and eradicated the enemies from the region, inflicting severe wounds and several deaths on these trespassers. Pakistan Air Force Pilots are still revered for performing commendable jobs during those hard times when they courageously fought and destroyed several Indian Air Force Planes. The war continued till 22nd September when, once again, India pleaded to the United Nations for ceasefire, knowing very well that Pakistan would uproot the Indian nation if the war continued. This war did not only result in bloodshed and economic loses, but also India lost their territory of 1617 sq. miles to Pakistan. The confrontation of the two armies on the Chwinda Lands is remembered as being the biggest warfare battle after the World War 2. This War also resulted in the favor of Pakistan.

But India still had not learnt their lesson. They messed with Pakistan again and were badly defeated yet again. Again, it was the United Nations that saved India’s sorry image when they appealed yet again for a ceasefire after having started the war in the first place.

Peace.
