Burj Khalifa

Greetings!!

The third form of adjectives has long been attributed with unchallengeable records. The longest railway route, the largest network of roads, the biggest house – all give an impression of an unbroken undeniable record the “creators” made when these nouns came into being.

Similarly, after the sad demise of the twin towers – then the tallest towers in the world – in the unfortunate 9/11 disaster, several attempts were made to surpass the records. As a result, the current tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa situated in Dubai, U.A.E. with its height rising upto 828m!

It is shaped in the form of a desert flower – the Hymenocallis – with a distinctive peak. Burj Khalifa is reported to be decorated with utmost luxury and gold.

The opening ceremony of this gigantic monster had an expenditure of more than a million dirham. With its luxury, extravagance and uniqueness, Burj Khalifa does not seem to be welcoming for the common average earners except for the observation deck accessible to all.

I believe Burj Khalifa is the Arab’s appreciable attempt at promoting tourism in the region. With rumors screaming about the depletion of the natural resources in the region on which the Middle Eastern economies heavily depend on, it makes absolute sense the Arabs are worried about their sustenance. However, Bedouins, as the Arabs originally were, are building structures so huge that if you turn your face to look at its peak, your hat will fall off. Food for Thought: It has already been mentioned in Islamic resources that this is a clear symbol of the End. Are we prepared for it?

Peace.
