Creativity is not Work

Greetings!!

Ever heard about creativity crossing a person while s/he is at work? Though I can not claim that this does not happen at all, but more often, creativity occurs when a person is in a relaxed state-of-mind - like people say, "The best solutions come during showers". Most people will support me when I say creativity does not come with time deadlines pressurizing your thoughts.

I heard about a distant relative working in an organization centered on creativity. She is given a cubicle where she has spend the day creating designs for the organization. Repetition is strictly forbidden in the organization's policies and they are assigned a time duration during which they have to produce a novel design. I find it foolish to expect a person to "create" during the 9-5 job hours with the time deadlines dangling over their heads. It is reported that an organization had once given a day off to all its employees, allowing them to indulge in whatever they like. Reportedly, that organization developed million dollars innovations from that same day. Did these ideas cross the employees while they were at work? Yes, technically they were in their offices but not working! That concludes my statement - Creativity is NOT Work!!

Peace.
