Greetings..
This is with regards to the metropolitan news, "Death toll reaches 60 in Karachi violence"

It is undoubtedly heart wrenching to hear about this bloodshed in what used to be known as the "City of Lights". A more pressing matter is, however, the absolute absence of a reason for this bloodshed. Even so, having a reason for this bloodshed does not morally or legally justify the resultant loss of lives. It has been this way for the past 3 days and only when the death toll rises strikingly and hits a jackpot does our authorities realize something is wrong in the city. Sadly, our politicians are unable to do anything but give statements and point in others face, holding them responsible for the current situation. The target in this case are the police and the rangers. However, if these same gentlemen do something to maintain peace in the region, the same media and politicians give no leniency while criticizing these individuals. What is worse is that public transport commuters, who seldom used to be the targets of such violence before, were heartily targeted today! The nation, oppressed by government's loot-oriented policies, terrorized by the extremist parties and stricken by the economic conditions of the country and subsequently their own poverty are left no opportunities but to end their lives - and maybe even of those unsuspecting innocent individuals who simply happen to be at the wrong place.
May Allah Bless Us All.
Peace.
