Cars gone Cheap

Greetings!!

This is in reference to the news "Cars prices decrease"

The article states the decrease in these prices is due to the decrease in taxes imposed on the cars. The different popular manufacturers have reduced their prices till up to Rs.40,000 in compliance with the decrease in taxes.

I believe, in addition to the decrease in taxes, this decrease in prices is attributed to the economic conditions of this country. With the poverty level constantly rising and people finding it difficult to pay the daily transport charges in public vehicles, cars have now long become a luxury. Additionally, fuel fluctuations in terms of prices and also more recently the availability has posed bigger problem in maintaining cars. An average breadwinner can not afford a car with ease. More than affordability, the problem arises of maintenance and usage. This by no means has resulted in a decrease in the number of cars on the roads - thanks to the installment schemes every bank has to offer - this has merely resulted in every household affording a single car, if at all.

Peace.
